LayerZero marking its availability on Cronos EVM and Cronos ZkEVM including mainnet and testnet networks. The integration allows access to 115+ blockchain networks apart from that developers can now build bridges, increase token utility, and can create more cross-chain applications.
The move unlocks access to billions of dollars in crypto assets hosted on Cronos, paving the way for further protocol integrations and expanding the Cronos ecosystem.
Ken Timsit, Managing Director of Cronos Labs, said: “Cross-chain interoperability has been a major priority of the Cronos project since its inception. Given the significant security and liquidity challenges associated with the fragmentation of the crypto industry, Cronos Labs is executing on that priority with caution and determination. In 2025, we expect much greater connectivity between crypto projects and traditional finance. The integration with LayerZero enables that.”
⛓️ Cronos Now Connected to 115+ Blockchains: We’re excited to announce that @LayerZero_Core, the leading cross-chain interoperability protocol, is now live on Cronos EVM and Cronos zkEVM!

Bryan Pellegrino, CEO of LayerZero Labs, added: “Cronos zkEVM is one of the first Elastic Chains LayerZero is expanding to, which is exciting, as the whole point of interoperability is to connect different types of chains. Excited to see what is built here!”
Cronos EVM users can now seamlessly transfer assets between the Cosmos SDK ecosystem, other EVM chains, and Solana. Cronos zkEVM users retain their Ethereum bridge access and gain faster cross-chain transfers to a broad range of layer-1 and layer-2 networks. These improvements enhance interoperability across the Cronos ecosystem.
Cronos Labs has announced that new bridging options, including CRO/zkCRO, will be added to the Cronos bridge portals (cronos.org/bridge and zkevm.cronos.org/bridge) in the coming weeks. The company is actively supporting developers building cross-chain dApps, particularly those exploring prediction markets, asset tokenization, synthetic asset trading, DeFi lending, and staking protocols.
Cronos Labs is especially interested in applications leveraging LayerZero for cross-chain functionality, including those using locked collateral across different chains.
