Polygon (MATIC) has launched the Miden Alpha Testnet v4, introducing several new features designed to enhance the developer experience.
Key Features of Miden Alpha Testnet v4
The Miden Alpha Testnet v4 release includes several important updates:
- Rust Compiler Alpha Release: A significant new addition is the alpha release of the Rust compiler, which allows developers to compile Rust code into Miden Assembly. This experimental tool facilitates the conversion of Rust/WebAssembly code into MAST (Merkalized Abstract Syntax Tree), the bytecode used by the Miden VM.
- Miden Block Explorer: The first version of the Miden block explorer is now available, created by the StarkScan team. This tool provides users with the ability to view the current state of the Miden blockchain, including details on accounts, notes, and transactions.
Enhanced Developer Tools
The Testnet v4 also includes several new features for developers:
- Multiple Notes in One Transaction: The Miden VM now supports the consumption of multiple notes within a single transaction, enhancing transaction efficiency.
- Custom Transaction Requests: Users can now include customized notes in their transactions and inject these into the Miden client.
- Miden Web Client Crate: This addition allows the Miden client to operate directly in a web browser, facilitating browser-based Miden applications.
- Improved Miden Client CLI: Enhancements to the CLI include the ability to specify asset amounts with decimals and export account details.
- Basic Wallet Upgrades: The basic wallet now supports sending notes without assets by separating the send_asset function into create_note and move_asset_into_note.
Future Updates
Polygon plans to add more features to the Miden Testnet in the future, such as a fully functional Rust compiler, oracle support, and network transactions. Developers and pioneers can follow updates and changes in the Miden GitHub repositories.
This latest version focuses on improving developer tools and includes numerous enhancements and simplifications. As more developers join the Polygon Miden Alpha Telegram group and start building decentralized applications on the Miden zkVM rollup, the platform continues to advance and create new opportunities in the Web3 space.
Polygon Miden is leading the charge in the evolving Web3 landscape.
